TOURIST / VISITOR’S VISA

Foreign nationals (citizens from countries not exempted from visa requirements) wishing to visit Namibia (not for employment) should apply for visas before embarking upon their journey to Namibia for the purpose or reasons of visit which may include the following:

*Holiday/tourism/vacation
*Visiting friends or relatives
*Attending meetings
*Exploring business opportunities
*Medical treatment

Upon arrival at Namibia's Ports of entry, the standard Visitor's Entry Permit (VEP) will be endorsed in the passports with a specific remark. The maximum 90-day days per year for visits may be granted at once or at the discretion of the immigration officer at entry point.

Visitors with tourist /visitor’s visas are not allowed to engage in any employment while in the country.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR TOURIST VISA AND VISITOR’S VISA WHEN VISITING FRIENDS AND RELATIVES:

* Completed Visa application form
* Valid passport - Passport must be valid at least six (6) months validity from the returning date of entry and at least 5 blank pages
* Two (2) passport photos in color - Write your name on the back of the photos (45mm x 35mm, White Background)
* Copy of flight ticket / itinerary of round trip itinerary indicating your trip in and out of Namibia
* Proof of accommodation (proof of hotel booking or Invitation letter from person(s) inviting the visitor or tour operator)
* Travel insurance/proof of international medical insurance
*Three months bank statement

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR VISA TO ATTEND MEETINGS/WORKSHOPS (NOT AS A FACILITATOR) AND EXPLORING BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES:

 

* Valid passport - Passport must be valid at least six (6) months validity from the returning date of entry and at least 5 blank pages
* Two (2) passport photos in color - Write your name on the back of the photos (45mm x 35mm, White Background)
* Copy of flight ticket / itinerary
* Proof of accommodation
* Travel insurance/proof of international medical insurance
* Note Verbale from your Diplomatic Mission/Organization. This should include your full identity, the reason for holding a diplomatic/official passport, your travel document details, and the purpose and dates of your stay in Namibia.
* Official Invitation Letter from your business partner in Namibia

Note:
-Ensure that you have the required documentation prior to handing in your application.
-Application forms with original passport can be hand delivered or mailed (post) to the Embassy/Permanent Mission of the Republic of Namibia.
- Multiple-entry visas for meetings and business are issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, and are granted based on valid reasons.
- Business persons coming to Namibia to work at their subsidiary companies, for example, give training to local staff, conduct audits of their companies, volunteer work of any kind etc. are required to apply for employment permits/work visas in terms of Section 27 of the Immigration Control Act (Act No. 7 of 1993) regardless of whether they are citizens of countries which are exempted.
-Workshop facilitators require a business visa
-Please do not address the letter to any staff member!
-It takes 5 working days for processing!
-Incomplete applications will delay the processing of visas.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR VISITOR’S VISA WHEN VISITING FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT

* Completed Visa application form - Fill in the application form online, print out and sign
* Valid passport - Passport must be valid at least six (6) months after departure from Namibia
* Two (2) passport photos in color - Write your name on the back of the photos
*Motivation Letter
* Confirmation Letter from Medical Institution/Hospital/Private Consultant in Namibia
* Proof of payment

 

TRAVELLING ABROAD WITH CHILDREN
